Just took delivery of a 4R6G, SR5, Heritage Blue. Was supposed to have mug guards as a PIO but not fitted and not available for dealers to order.

I will probably look at non oem options. I welcome any recommendations.
Might want to ask around for people taking them off. Probably a common occurrence, I took mine off but are holding them until my sliders are installed and decide if I want them or not.

I am interested in some “take off’s” too. I am located in TN. I thought I saw a posting for some non oem but maybe that was the Taco forum.

I was thinking that the fronts should fit from a Tacoma but figured the rear may be different. Also might have crossovers with the land crusier... I'm going to try to take a look at one when I get by Toyota soon.

what i found was that the oems dont always work out better.

good example, i bought some oem muds for our 23 tundra platinum (for some odd reason, the platinum model is the only one that you CANT get oem muds either as FIO or PIO), installed them and they sucked. turned around and bought some rekgen's and they worked twice as good as the oem's.

here is our 23 tundra with the oem's installed (1st pic) and then the rekgen's (2nd pic)

I sent Rek Gen an email asking about product for the 4R6G.... Nothing currently listed, let's hope they are close to making some. No email response.... I moved on. Its amazing how much business a company loses by not replying to customer emails.

Found a dealer with the ability to get them in a quoted two days. We'll see.

Yes, but only after I pointed it out.

I did see pretty good spray patterns on the truck after it was unloaded. I think I will have to get some.

They must all be at Gulf States Toyota since every 4Runner in my area has them included as one of the many PIOs GST puts on every 4Runner. Every one has $2,500-$3,000 worth of PIOs installed on them. Absolutely ridiculous money grab.

Agreed….I was fortunate to find a Unicorn in the GST region, a dealer that allowed me to remove the PIO’s I did not want. I’d read about dealers like this, but never dealt with one. The only down side is it’s a 3 hr drive vs 20 minutes to local dealer.

Mudguards were one of the few options I kept. Hopefully GST has inventory.

I cold called around many dealerships within a 500 mile radius of me & asked to speak directly to Sales Managers trying to find someone who would accommodate my requests so I can actually afford the already inflated base price of the '25 4Runners. A large majority of people I spoke to refused to have Gulf States Toyota options that I didn't want removed from the vehicle before it arrived at the Port. But persistence paid off & I did find a handful of Sales Managers willing to accommodate me & without tacking on insane dealership packages & “market adjustments”. I ultimately made a deal at Family Toyota of Burleson (Texas) which is 4 hours from my home.
For all y'all interested, my guy there is Greg Striejewske & he has been really awesome to deal with! Please be sure tell him that James W. in Houston, TX (TRD Sport Premium) referred you & thank him for serving our great country as he is a Veteran. 🇺🇸 His contact information:
