I really like the new 4runners. I think the TRD ORP trim is the sweet spot, but $58k-$60k MSRP + TTL just seems too high.

I walked away from a deal on a TRD ORP for $500 below MSRP and wonder if that was a mistake. Why are so many people paying these prices? Am I the odd one for thinking it's just too high?

I'd love to be proven wrong so I can go back and buy that 4runner before it sells LOL!

DO IT..... it's been amazing so far in 2 months of ownership and yes it's a big price jump compared to say a similar sized highlander but it is built tougher

Below msrp is a good deal right now. You could wait and maybe save another $500, or you could wait and end up paying msrp.

I’m curious what dealer?

I live in SoCal and paid MSRP.

I’ve had the Max ORP four days and love it.

I too walked away from a 2025 4R TRD ORP for a very similar OTD price. After looking at a couple of dealer’s offers in my area (SET Region) I decided on a used 5th Gen 2024 TRD ORP. I’m very happy with my decision as its allowed me to direct the money I saved on a few aftermarket mods I wanted.

I bought tried and proven tech in the 5th Gen developed through kaizen with availability of aftermarket tech, should I decide to add it, that would update some the older infotainment tech.
I don’t have TSS 3.0 but having experienced and used that in the 2025 Crown Signia I replaced with my current 5th Gen 4R, I concluded it is useful in the Signia but I don’t need it in my 4R. It’sa more traditional ā€˜driver’s experience’ which is what I anticipated and wanted in a capable DD & off road truck.
Choices & compromises is what life’s about to suit each of our individual needs and wants. YMMV 😊

Unfortunately, the price is the price that Toyota set. I will echo others above, in that it’s an amazing truck. I’ve come from multiple Jeep Grand Cherokees in a row and I’ve never owned a Toyota or driven one before. I was lucky and got the TRD Pro, which I absolutely love. It’s the best vehicle I’ve owned to date. If you really love it, just do it. You won’t regret it.

Add a zero to your discount and that's when I drive down and buy one LOL

I've been waiting this long for a buyer's market, I'll wait longer.

Well I guess I'm part of the problem now. I went ahead and signed the deal on a TRD ORP ($500 under MSRP). Should get delivered in a week.
Congrats.

Not sure if you have seen the thread or spreadsheet that someone put together on this forum. It’s a running list of the 2025 4Runners sold organized into build, sale price, state, dealer markup, options, etc. and your deal is not bad. For whatever that’s worth.

Cheers 🤘

Many people do not tell the truth when it comes to talking about how much someone paid for something. You don't see many people saying they paid the regional market on-top of MSRP that the dealership they bought from was charging. People just don't like to admit to stuff like that, so, the point is that you pay what you are comfortable paying based on your economic situation and desire for the vehicle. If someone walks away from a -$500 below MSRP deal, either they really do want the vehicle or they cannot afford it at that price. If you are spending $60K, you are not going to let $500 change your mind. Just my opinion, don't hate me. And I realize the OP did not say he wanted $1000 below MSRP, what I mean is you just have to take with a grain of salt what you see here on this forum. Most people do tell the truth, there is nothing to hide, but if you see the occasional person saying that the got an Invoice price deal or well below MSRP, try not to let that be the new standard.

I picked up my TRD OR for $1500 off MSRP. This dealer in Seattle has all their 4R’s for $1500 off MSRP I think.

Part of the equation is where you are in your own personal buying cycle. I needed a car, as my brand-new Land Cruiser was destroyed in an accident caused by someone else. I was lucky to find a Pro at MSRP, and I waited 7 weeks for delivery. If I had not found one at list price I was prepared to pay more. Why? Because 1) I needed a new truck, and 2) I could afford it and 3) I WANTED IT.

Life isn't always about saving money. Some of us choose to spend money on things that we want, or that make us happy, or allow us to do our jobs better, or our hobbies. And we get on with it.

If the difference between you buying a 4Runner and not buying a 4Runner is a hypothetical 3-4% savings, then maybe it's not the truck for you. Great. But do you need to tell everyone that? Nobody cares. I promise.

Just do you and stop worrying about those of us that overspent on our plastic, unreliable, 4-cylinder trucks. Please šŸ™

I mean what kind of ā€œdiscountā€ are you thinking you will get ?

If theoretically these started to pile up on lots the most you will be seeing is discounts on any PIOs or DIOs and ultimately still paying MSRP.

The 4Runner is expensive always was and will continue to be.

The prices will continue to rise like anything else in life. Every model year will always have an increase in MSRP.

I’m sure in my lifetime the TRD PRO will reach 90-100k MSRP and i will be swinging my fist talking about when i got mine for 70 lol

If you want it buy it ! And at the price point if $500 was the difference then you didn’t really want it to begin with.
