The new 2025 Toyota 4Runner SR5 brakes are insanely loud when cold. It goes away after braking hard a few times (or about 5 minutes of driving), but you will turn every head in the city when leaving your parking spot. I have been told ad nauseam by my dealer that the brakes have a break in period (duh), but this is ridiculous.
I can reproduce the noise every single day after letting it sit for a few hours. Doesn’t matter going forward or reverse. It will squeal and make your ears bleed at the first few min of your drive. There seems to be no solution in sight, and I just have to slam on the brakes hard two or three times in the morning to make it stop.
Dealer says to just keep an eye on it, everything looks fine on their end.. I am dumbfounded.
Is there a TSB for this, or is it still too early for Toyota to admit or acknowledge anything is wrong?
