2025 4Runner Platinum Deal

Hello,

I’ve been working with my dealer since last August for a fully loaded 2025 4Runner Platinum. My dealer reached out and said my 4Runner has left Japan and should arrive at the dealership sometime between May 8th and June 8th. Yay!

The MSRP (or Total Advertised Price) is $67,053 (ouch!). My dealer does not force worthless dealer add-ons. Yay! He said he could give me a $500 discount (I’m a repeat buyer), making my total out-the-door cost (with doc fee) exactly $66,930. Here in Missouri, we pay our taxes when we title our vehicles at the DMV.

What do you guys think of this deal? I’m happy to get $500 off. Should I shoot for more of a discount? Also, wonder why Platinums are so hard to find out there. Is Toyota not making a whole lot of the Platinum trim?

It looks like the base Platinum trim is $62,860, before delivery, processing and handling. When you say foully loaded, what else did you have added on? Looks like a pretty cool trim!

its a temp vin, go back to the dealer once its rolled thru the assembly line and gets a real vin

anytime you get a vin and one of the last 6 digits is alphanumeric, its a temp vin (toyota standard procedure for vins)

They dont have one, found a Red Platinum in Manchester NH, they cant transfer it to here. (too far away) Seems very little to NO Platinum in South East region.

This is my first Toyota purchase, the Business model of "NOT" really ordering a vehicle but putting down money to get in line seems flawed. Its a head scratcher. I'm not faulting the dealership at all, just the practice. This is way up at the 10,000 foot level of the organization. I can tell you what I want, let me order it, "nope". Wait till we eventually get one comes in color/features you want. If one comes in to local dealer, maybe we can trade (but only a maybe). Soooo, may have to buy something else or other vendor altogether. Test drove a Land Cruiser but very slight vibration noticed that would drive me crazy. Ugh!
