I think this is fantastic. I just wish it wasn't going to be in the Rivian price range.

Jeep has added the Jeep Recon 4xe to its website:

https://www.jeep.com/recon.html

Official Jeep photos for the 2026 Recon 4xe, in an orange color that looks like Punk'n.

Thanks for sharing, I was looking for info on the Recon on the Jeep site yesterday and this wasn't there. I will catch a lot of grief saying this, but even after 33 years of driving Wranglers (with one terrible, brain-cramped year in a Range Rover), but I'm really psyched to try the Recon. Just wish it wasn't going to be so expensive, they should give a huge discount for early adopters because you know we're going to have a range of problems as they work out the kinks!

I've been excited about this since Jeep introduced it about 2 and a half years ago and thought, if they could keep the price reasonable, it may be my next vehicle. Then RJ introduced the Rivian R2, which I reserved immediately after it rolled out. I was still hoping Jeep would deliver on the Recon, though, since it would be more rugged. Then, Scout Motors introduced the Traveler and Terra, in both EV and Harvester EV versions...whelp, I reserved the Traveler EV as soon as Scott had them rolled onto the stage. Jeep, it looks like we have a more affordable off-road EV king on its way that looks way more impressive and is backed by Rivian software architecture, not the quirky stuff Stellantis is putting out. I'm hoping the Recon will still be impressive and do well, I just think Jeep has gotten out of control with their pricing, especially when the Scouts will offer body-on-frame and a live rear axle, along with the option of the Harvester range-extending 4 cylinder VW motor, taking it from 350+ miles of range in the standard EV, to over 500. Yes, the Recon is coming out later this year, finally. However, the Scout Traveler and Terra will be worth waiting for. I just think you'll get more for what you pay for with Scout. And, I know some will say, "Well, you can take the doors off the Recon..." I probably wouldn't any way...I had an '02 WJ with a 6" lift that I took all over the dusty Arizona desert trails and never once wished I could take the doors off. If Jeep would price this in the $45-60K range, this would sell like crazy and I'd be more likely to buy one, or maybe lease until the Traveler comes in late '27!

Anyway, here are a couple of stills from a video I ran across, with a very aggressive stance, that makes it look really cool, along with a full photo from the Canadian Jeep site: Jeep Canada: Recon

Seeing some of the lifted renderings is really exciting! They launched the Wagoneer S with an incredible lease offer, so I would imagine something similar with the Recon when it launches!

More great stuff from the Jeep site: Jeep: Big Game

I'm back on board with being excited about the Recon, the more I keep obsessing over these images...LOL! I'm still holding out hope I'll be impressed once I get behind the wheel for a test drive, when they finally come out. It may make it tougher or easier to decide whether I should wait for the Traveler or not.

I’m with you this. I was getting impatient and seeing what the competition is coming out with and with projected prices that will likely be very competitive, it’s getting crowded and Jeep better be thinking hard at how to price this and present it to make sure they succeed with this one.
