I’ve put in a reservation for R2 and might look into leasing an R1 in the coming months while I wait. I know Rivian is looking a little risky in their ability to stay cash positive, but Jeep has really missed the boat on so much with their delayed release, lack of info, and honestly lack of...
No mention of the Tesla Supercharger network. They only say they’ll use the same connector. That’s a huge miss if they haven’t worked out a deal to use the Supercharger network and other manufacturers will have a big advantage.
I’d love to see that happen! That or get an announcement sometime sooner and the press get to look at it at EJS. I’m not getting my hopes up too high for anything though anymore. That being said, if they announced ahead it’d be there and on display for the public, I’d be making a quick trip to Moab.
The comments really are a scary place…my hope is that they’re the vocal minority though. If you compare the number of “likes” on the post to the number of closed minded people commenting, it seems to be the case?
Not much actual news, but check out Jeep’s most recent Instagram post. They’re at least starting to advertise the Wagoneer, maybe we’ll get an ad for the Recon soon. 🤷‍♂️
Sorry to hear it’s going to be too late to meet your timeframe. Fortunately I have time on my side, patience on the other hand is not my strongest trait. I’m just disappointed they can’t seem to give us any info. Even just announcing it’s delayed would be something. Instead it’s complete...
Probably good to sign up on all of the competitors because it seems the Recon is never coming. Stellantis has now backed out of all North American Auto shows…we’re never seeing this thing.

Guess we’re not seeing the Recon this year and it also means a longer wait for a fully electric vehicle that is off road capable and not $100k. Bummed…
Just found another article mentioning the Recon and stating it’ll hit dealerships early next year. I don’t know that I believe it since we haven’t heard anything about orders yet, but here it is...
Another Electrek article not providing any additional information, but at least claiming the Recon will arrive next year and providing some more media coverage:

So…just the Gladiator at NAIAS and not even a 4xe variant. Pretty disappointing. Last major auto show is in LA in November. I’ve booked flights and bought tickets to attend. Who knows maybe I’ll get lucky and it’ll be there? In other news, Electrek has posted a new article headlining the Recon...
Was getting hopeful that the Recon would be at the Detroit Auto Show, but now feeling less confident. Jeep is planning to show the 2024 updated Gladiator and I’m thinking it is unlikely they’d show both. Seems like it might be the New York Auto Show all over again.
Just realized that 4xe day last year where the Recon was announced happened on September 8th. The event was announced on August 31st. If the pattern is repeated this year, we could hear about the next 4xe day this week and get another presentation prior to NAIAS in Detroit. Could be a good way...
I still want to see a Tesla NACS agreement come from Stellantis. It’s obviously good to have more charging options, but being on one standard port across all North American EVs is critical as well.
I agree. I had this same thought, but I think it’s likely wishful thinking on our part or at least the idea of the Recon releasing with NACS built in is. We can hope though! My best guess now on when we’ll get more info is at NAIAS in Detroit. Who knows, maybe we could get lucky and learn...
Some news! It seems we may get some information in June based on this Motor Trend article:
