First off, New to the site so I want to say Hi to everyone,

Picked up a 25' Ice Cap TRD Pro on Monday and just got around to opening all the accessory packages in the cargo area. I came across this bag (below) with these parts numbers. It says a LED Lantern which is confirmed on the build sheet and by the parts number on the bag per internet search.

However, this part was in the bag and there was no lantern to be found. Went back to dealership and their confused, parts numbers that are on the part do not come up, which I can't find them either however they do seem to be similar to a Toyota number.

It was late today so only the salesmen were there but they were trying to tell me the $160 charge on my build sheet was for the wiring, not the lantern. I looked the lantern up by those part numbers and the cost varies from place to place from $120-$160. That's not a coincidence. Hopefully they'll get it settled on Monday.

Open the driver door and look on the edge of the dash. There should be a lantern there that replaced this blank cap you would have, had there not been the lantern. You should be able to twist the lantern clockwise, I believe, to remove it.

Thanks for the quick input but it's not there and that cap I pictured doesn't fit and it certainly better not cost $160. ..lol

The lantern costs $160. I think there may be a piece snapped in that the lantern twists in to? Maybe someone took the lantern but the surround is still there making that blank cap not fit (can you remove the surround)? Not sure (I don’t have the lantern I found that pic online. I just have the blank cap which snaps into place there).

Here's how it's listed on the window build sheet. Has anyone else gotten the lantern and had it listed differently on their build sheet? Just trying to prepare for round 2 at the dealership on Monday.

Accessory Ready LED Lantern; the dealer is correct about the prewiring but not the actual lantern. It looks like a gimmick to help dealers make money in the parts department.

There is no wiring. It takes batteries. For $160 it should be there.

Rechargeable?
It is not rechargeable, either in car or via usb. It uses a dedicated battery, and every time someone asks the question "what kind of battery" nobody answers? It's weird.

And don't get me started on the other things Toyota sells for that location. Leatherman tool holder? Weird. Ice Scrapper? Have you ever used a round, puck sized ice scrapper? I live in Washington state and keep my truck outside, I also snowboard 30 times a year, I've never even seen an ice scrapper shaped like that. Again, weird.

I believe it takes batteries, no wiring needed. The side dash insert to accept the lantern is $18.00 from Toyota.

I honestly just think the salesmen that were there are just not knowledgeable enough on this new model. I hope Monday when the service dept and managers are in it should be cleared up pretty quick.

They just forgot to give you the lantern. I added this to my build and they installed the lantern on the side and the original cover was in the same plastic bag from your post.

As for the lantern, (3) AA batteries.

Thanks for your reply, I just found the cover in another post which no one knew what it was at the dealership.

What did your build sheet have it listed as, did it say Accessory Ready LED Lantern or did it just say LED Lantern? Their trying to tell me the $160. is for the insert which every other kind they have is under $20. But again, they were salesmen I was talking to.

Here's a pic of what I have on the side dash:
