Has anyone Installed the Westcott low pro roof rack? Also wondering if it will work with a sunroof. Torn between it and the Sherpa. Thanks

Thanks, I've seen the Sherpa on a few and have talked to a few that have installed it. Mainly looking for more info on the Westcott and if it works with sunroof. Also like the look of the low pro and its $500 cheaper.

Ericd6972,
I specifically spoke to the people at Westcott designs regarding the roof rack and the moonroof. They told me that it fits fine. I have it on order.

Just installed Westcott Lo-Pro rack, molle and recovery board mount. Could not be happier with the quality and fit. Had my detailer/modifier install since was having other work done. He agreed on the fit and quality. Would not hesitate to use Westcott. Super tight/low profile fit.

that looks awesome! I know with the Prinsu rack you need to trim weather stripping on roof and use rtv silicone for install, any idea if it's the same with the Westcott?

Yes. I suspect install process is pretty much the same for both. Remove rails. Use same bolt holes (and silicone) to mount rack and then with Westcott the front uses a bracket with double sided tape. That part was only element that a little tricky but I think because the fit is so low profile and really exact. They have very detailed videos on their site for the entire install process. I built it in about 30 mins. And probably took my guys an about two hours to mount mostly due getting that front part to work exactly. They put a strip of PDX wrap down but probably not necessary. I think a super good wax application fine.

Yeah. Not that easy to find. Their youtube channel has some interesting and helpful videos. I asked them to send me one. They send two. I thought this one was best.

I looked them over and ordered the Sherpa. Here's why:
- clearance between crossbars and roof appears to be better for Sherpa rack
- Very beefy 0.25-inch side plates. Important to support the cantilevered forward section of the rack.
- No need to cut the roof molding to install
- Three large cutouts in side plates will allow strap buckles to pass through.
